Healagen Ointment is an Astringent / Antiseptic ointment applied topically to the affected area for the treatment and healing of persistent capillary bleeding conditions in dogs, cats and horses. Healagen is both ANTIBACTERIAL and ANTIFUNGAL. Healagen Ointment and Healagen Concentrate have been proven to be useful in the treatment of all cases of superficial skin injuries including proud flesh.

Description

Healagen Astringent/Antiseptic Ointment assists in the treatment of wounds by:
* Maintaining a moist wound environment to prevent scab formation
* Allows epithelial cells to migrate across the wound to enhance healing
* Encourages wounds to heal from the sides as well as the bottom to speed up healing
* Provides a bacterial barrier, so no bandage is needed
* Reduces inflammation and decreases pain.
Formaldehyde (concentration of less than 2ppm) activates the healing properties of Healagen. It is completely used during the manufacturing process making it absolutely safe to use. Veterinary Surgeon, Bob May says he uses the concentrate as a spray on all open wounds and the cream under all bandages, on fly bitten ears and elbow calluses to name a few, but a word of warning …. never use it close to eyes”. Healagen is developed, manufactured and tested in Australia to strict veterinary requirements giving you peace of mind. Healagen contains the same active ingredients as KelatoGEN.
The Concentrate is available in a 100 ml bottle.

Ingredients & Directions

INGREDIENTS

Each mL of Healagen Concentrate contains:
360mg of the condensation products of meta-cresol monosulphonic acids and formaldehyde.

Healagen Concentrate:

  • Dilute the concentrate and paint or spray the wound once daily until bleeding stops and wound commences healing.
  • Continue applying a 4% dilution or apply the ointment until the wound completely heals.
  • The pH of Healagen Concentrate is 0.6 and a 4-5% dilution of Healagen Concentrate in water has a pH of approximately 1.5.

Dilution Rates: To obtain the desired concentration of solution Healagen Concentrate:

  • 20% = 20mL of Healagen Concentrate made up to 100mL with water.
  • 4% = 4mL of Healagen Concentrate made up to 100mL with water.
  • 2% = 2mL of Healagen Concentrate made up to 100mL with water.
  • 1% = 1mL of Healagen Concentrate made up to 100mL with water.
TREATMENT RESUMÉ
Wounds (new or old) Treatment
Surgical wounds, abscesses, eczema, furunculosis, hoof wounds Paint with Healagen Concentrate or irrigate with Healagen Concentrate at a 10-20% dilution daily and continue treatment.
Haemorrhage/wound bleeding

Oozing skin conditions

 Apply Healagen Concentrate at 20% dilution.
Proud flesh during wound healing Apply Healagen Concentrate at 4% dilution.
Hoof treatment After surgical cleaning, paint with Healagen Concentrate 2 to 3 times.
Endometritis (infection of uterus) 200 to 400mL of 1 to 2% solution. Intrauterine instillation prior to insemination or service (the pH of the uterus returns to normal within 24 hours) or after insemination or service (allowing sufficient time for sperm to reach the oviducts).
